కరోనా వైరస్ శరీరంలో తీవ్రమైన ఇన్ఫెక్షన్ ను కలిగించిన రోజుల్లో ‘ఇటోలీజుమ్యాబ్’ ఔషధం బాగా పనిచేస్తోందని ముంబయి కేంద్రంగా పనిచేస్తున్న నాయిర్ ఆసుపత్రి వైద్యులు ప్రకటించారు. వెంటిలేటర్ పై ఉన్న ఇద్దరు రోగులకు దీన్ని అందించగా, వారి ఆరోగ్యం సాధారణ స్థితికి చేరిందని స్పష్టం చేశారు. కాగా, ‘ఇటోలీజుమ్యాబ్’ను ఇండియాలో బయోకాన్ సంస్థ తయారు చేస్తోంది. ఒక డోస్ ఇంజక్షన్ ఖరీదు రూ. 60 వేలు. కరోనాపై తమ ఔషధం సత్ఫలితాలను ఇస్తోందని తెలుసుకున్న బయోకాన్ ఎండీ కిరణ్ మజుందార్ షా, ఆసుపత్రుల్లో ప్రయోగాత్మకంగా వాడేందుకు ‘ఇటోలీజుమ్యాబ్’ను ఉచితంగా అందిస్తామని పేర్కొంది. నాయిర్ ఆసుపత్రిలో ఈ డ్రగ్ పనిచేసిందని వైద్యులు వెల్లడించిన తరువాత, కింగ్ ఎడ్వర్డ్ స్మారక ఆసుపత్రిలో 35 ఏళ్ల కరోనా పాజిటివ్ రోగికి ఔషధాన్ని ఇవ్వాలని అధికారులు నిర్ణయించారు. ఇక వివిధ ఆసుపత్రుల్లో చికిత్స పొందుతున్న 125 మంది పేద రోగులకు కూడా ‘ఇటోలీజుమ్యాబ్’ ఇవ్వాలని భావిస్తున్న బీఎంసీ అధికారులు, ఆ మేరకు ప్రణాళికను రూపొందిస్తున్నారు.

After doctors revealed that the drug worked at Noir Hospital, authorities decided to give the drug to a 35-year-old corona positive patient at King Edward Memorial Hospital. BMC officials are also planning to give itolizumab to 125 poor patients who are being treated in various hospitals.
