ఖైదీల తిరుగుబాటు.. కాల్పుల్లో 9 మంది మృతి !

పెరూదేశం లీమా పట్టణం లోని మైగుల్ క్యాస్ట్రో-క్యాస్ట్రో జైలులో 600 మంది ఖైదీలకు కరోనా వైరస్ సోకడం, ఇద్దరు కరోనాతో చనిపోవడంతో జైలు లోని ఖైదీలంతా తమను విడుదల చేయాలంటూ తిరుగుబాటు చేశారు. వీరిపై పోలీసులు జరిపిన కాల్పుల్లో 9 మంది చనిపోగా వందలాది మంది తీవ్ర గాయాలపాలయ్యారు.

కాస్ట్రో కాస్ట్రో జైలు సామర్థ్యం 1,140 మంది ఉండటానికే సరిపోతుంది అయితే ప్రస్థుతం ఆ జైల్లో 5,500 మంది ఖైదీలు ఉన్నారు, అసలే కరోనా వైరస్ తో ప్రపంచం వణుకుతున్న కాలంలో ఇక్కడ కనీసం భౌతిక దూరం పాటించడం కూడా సాధ్యంకాదు. జైలు అధికారులు కూడా ఖైదీలపట్ల చాలా నిర్లక్ష్యంగా వ్యవహరిస్తారని ఖైదీల బందువులు ఆరోపిస్తుంటారు. ఇటువంటి పరిస్థితుల్లో కరోనాతో ఇద్దరు మరణించడం 600 మందికి కరోనా సోకడంతో ఖైదీల్లో తీవ్రంగా ఆందోళనమొదలైంది.

తమను విడుదల చేయాలని, రద్దీని తగ్గించాలని, కరోనా సోకకుండా చర్యలు చేపట్టాలని కొద్ది రోజులుగా వాళ్ళు అధికారులకు విన్నవించుకుంటూనే ఉన్నారు. శనివారం(ఏప్రెల్ 25) నాడు దాదాపు రెండు వందల మంది ఖైదీలు నిరసన ప్రదర్శన కూడా చేశారు. దయచేసి మమ్ములను కరోనాతో చంపకండి...మమ్మల్ని కాపాడండి అంటూ బ్యానర్లు ప్రదర్శించారు. ఆ రోజు జైలు వార్దేన్ వీళ్ళకు నచ్చజెప్పి, ఖైదీలతో కొన్ని ఒప్పందాలు చేసుకొని నిరసన విరమింపజేశాడు.

అయితే ఆదివారంనాడి కరోనా సోకిన ఇద్దరు ఖైదీలు మరణించడంతో మిగతా ఖైదీలంతా భయాందోళనలకు గురయ్యారు. దా‍ంతో సోమవారం ఉదయం నుండే నిరసనలు తెలపడం మొదలుపెట్టారు. నినాదాలు చేయడం, బ్యానర్లు ప్రదర్శించడం చేశారు. వారి నిరసనలు ఆపడానికి జైలు సిబ్బంది బలప్రయోగాన్ని ఉపయోగించడంతో రెచ్చిపోయిన ఖైదీలు తిరుగుబాటు చేశారు. జైలు సిబ్బందిని ప్రతిఘటించారు. పలు వస్తువులను తగలబెట్టారు. దాంతో బైటి నుండి భారీగా పోలీసులను రప్పించిన ప్రభుత్వం ఖైదీలపై కాల్పులకు ఆదేశించింది. పోలీసులు జరిపిన కాల్పుల్లో 9 మంది ఖైదీలు మరణించగా వందలాది మంది తీవ్రంగా గాయపడ్డారు.అదే సమయంలో జైలు బయట ఖైదీల బందువులు వందలాదిగా గుమికూడారు. తమ వాళ్ళను విడుదల చేయాలంటూ నినదించారు.
