కరోనా వైరస్ ప్రభావంతో భారత్ సహా ప్రపంచంలోని చాలా దేశాలు లాక్‌డౌన్ చేపట్టాయి. కానీ చాలా దేశాల్లో ప్రజలు యథేచ్ఛగా రోడ్ల మీదకు వస్తున్నారు. మన దగ్గర అతి స్వేచ్ఛ కాబట్టి.. పోలీసులు బతిమాలడం, లేదంటే రెండు తగిలించడం చేస్తున్నారు. కానీ ఫిలిప్పిన్స్‌లో మాత్రం లాక్‌డౌన్ నిబంధనలను ఉల్లంఘిస్తే కాల్చి పారేయండని పోలీసులకు ఆదేశాలిచ్చారు. ఏ మాత్రం సంకోచించొద్దు.. ఎవరైనా మీపై దాడి చేసే పరిస్థితి తలెత్తితే.. కాల్చి చంపండి అని ఫిలిప్పిన్స్ అధ్యక్షుడు రోడ్రిగో డ్యుటెర్టే పోలీసులు, ఆర్మీని ఆదేశించారు.

రాజధాని మనీలా సహా ఫిలిప్పిన్స్‌లో కఠినంగా క్వారంటైన్ అమలు చేస్తున్నారు. కానీ వామపక్షాల మద్దతుతో కొందరు ఇళ్ల నుంచి బయటకు వచ్చి ఆందోళనలు చేపడుతున్నారనేది రోడ్రిగో బలంగా నమ్ముతున్నాడు. దీంతో లెఫ్టిస్టులకు వార్నింగ్ ఇచ్చాడు. ‘మీరు ప్రభుత్వంలో లేరనే విషయాన్ని గుర్తించుకోండి. ఇబ్బందులు కలగజేయొద్దు, ఘర్షణలకు కారణం కావొద్దు. లేదంటే కోవిడ్ మహమ్మారి అదుపులోకి వచ్చేంత వరకు మిమ్మల్ని అదుపులో తీసుకోమని ఆదేశించాల్సి ఉంటుంది’ అని రోడ్రిగో హెచ్చరించాడు.

ఫిలిప్పిన్స్‌లో 16 శాతం జనాభా పేదరికంలో మగ్గుతోంది. దీంతో లాక్‌డౌన్‌తో వారు ఇబ్బందులు పడకుండా చూడటం కోసం రోడ్రిగో 4 బిలియన్ డాలర్లు కేటాయించారు. 1.8 కోట్ల మందికి ఈ మొత్తాన్ని పంపిణీ చేయాలని నిర్ణయించారు. కానీ అర్హుల జాబితా రూపొందిస్తున్న కారణంతో ఇప్పటికీ పేదలకు సాయం అందలేదు.

కాల్చి పారేయండి అంటూ రోడ్రిగో చేసిన వ్యాఖ్యలకు నిరసనగా.. సోషల్ మీడియాలో #OustDuterte (డ్యుటెర్టేను తొలగించండి) అనే హ్యాష ట్యాగ్‌ట్రెండ్ అయ్యింది. ఆకలితో అలమటిస్తుంటే ప్రజలు ఎలా సైలెంట్‌గా ఉంటారని స్టూడెంట్ గ్రూప్ సీఈజీపీ ప్రశ్నించింది. ఫిలిప్పిన్స్‌లో ఇప్పటి వరకూ 2311 కరోనా కేసులు నమోదు కాగా... 96 మంది చనిపోయారు.
