ముస్లిం కానిస్టేబుల్ మానవత్వం

తమిళనాడులోని తిరుచిరాపల్లి జిల్లా రెట్టియపట్టి గ్రామానికి చెందిన 24 సంవత్సరాల సులోచన గర్భవతి. నొప్పులు రావడంతో ఆమె భర్త, మరో బంధువుతో కలిసి తమ గ్రామం నుండీ 7 కిలోమీటర్ల దూరంలో ఉన్న మనప్పరాయ్ లోని ఆస్పత్రికి అంబులెన్స్ లో వెళ్ళారు. సిజేరియన్ చేయించుకుంటే బెటర్ అని అక్కడి డాక్టర్లు సలహా ఇచ్చారు. కాకపోతే, సిజేరియన్ సమయంలో రక్తం ఎక్కించాల్సి ఉంటుందనీ, లాక్ డౌన్ వల్ల ఆస్పత్రిలో రక్తం అందుబాటులో లేదనీ, డోనర్ ని తీసుకుని రావాలని గానీ, లేకపోతే, ఊరికి వెళ్ళి, నాలుగురోజుల తర్వాత తిరిగి రావల్సిందిగా డాక్టర్లు సూచించారు.

ఆ ఊరిలో తమకు తెలిసిన వారు ఎవ్వరూ లేకపోవడంతో, రక్తం దొరకడం అయ్యేపని కాదని, తమ గ్రామానికి తిరిగి వెళ్ళిపోవాలనీ వారు డిసైడ్ చేసుకున్నారు. కానీ, తమను ఆ హాస్పిటల్ దగ్గర డ్రాప్ చేసిన అంబులెన్స్ అప్పటికే వెళ్ళిపోయింది. ఎలాగోలా సెంటర్ కి వెల్తే అక్కడ ఏవైనా వెహికల్స్ ఉండొచ్చని, సులోచన, ఆవిడ భర్త, మరో బంధువు , ముగ్గురూ కలిసి మెల్లగా రోడ్డుపై నడుచుకుంటూ బయల్దేరారు.

రోడ్డుపై విధులు నిర్వహిస్తున్న కానిస్టేబుల్ సయ్యద్ అబూతాహి ర్ఈ సమయంలో ఎక్కడికి వెల్తున్నారని వారిని ఆపి అడిగాడు. ఆస్పత్రి నుండీ తమ గ్రామానికి వెల్తున్నామని వారు చెప్పడంతో, వారికి ట్యాక్సీని అరేంజ్ చేశాడు. ఇంతలో అనుమానమొచ్చి, నెలలు నిండిన తర్వాత, ఆసుపత్రికి కాకుండా, ఇంటికెందుకెల్తునారని అడిగాడు. రక్తం దొరకకపోవడం వల్ల అని తెలియడంతో, కావలసిన బ్లడ్ గ్రూప్ ఏదో కనుక్కుని, వారిని తన డ్యూటీ ఐపోయే టైమ్ 2.PM వరకే అక్కడే వెయిట్ చేయమన్నాడు.
