విష ప్రచార ఫలితం.. 300 ప్రాణాలు !

వేగంగా వ్యాప్తి చెందుతున్న ఇరాన్‌లో భయానక పరిస్థితి నెలకొంది. ప్రాణాంతక వైరస్‌ సోకుతుందనే భయంతో ప్రజలు ఇండస్ర్టియల్‌ ఆల్కహాల్‌ను సేవిస్తుండటంతో పరిస్థితి మరింత దిగజారుతోంది. మెథనాల్‌ను తాగడంతో ఇప్పటివరకూ ఇరాన్‌లో 300 మంది మరణించగా, 1000 మందికి పైగా ప్రజలు అస్వస్థతకు గురయ్యారని ఇరాన్‌ మీడియా పేర్కొంది. ఇరాన్‌లో ఆల్కహాల్‌పై నిషేధం అమల్లో ఉండగా సోషల్‌మీడియాలో కరోనాకు విరుగుడు అంటూ సాగుతున్న ప్రచారంతో ఇలాంటి అనర్ధాలు చోటుచేసుకుంటున్నాయని అధికారులు వెల్లడించారు. విస్కీ, తేనె సేవించడం ద్వారా కరోనా వైరస్‌ నుంచి బ్రిటన్‌ టీచర్‌ సహా మరికొందరు బయటపడ్డారని ఇరాన్‌ సోషల్‌మీడియాలో మెసేజ్‌లు ముంచెత్తడంతో ప్రజలు ఇలాంటి తప్పుడు సలహాలకు ప్రభావితమై ప్రాణాలపైకి తెచ్చుకుంటున్నారని అధికారులు పేర్కొన్నారు.

ఆల్కహాల్‌తో కూడిన హ్యాండ్‌ శానిటైజర్ల వాడకంపై సాగిన ప్రచారంతో కొందరు అత్యంత ప్రభావవంతమైన ఆల్కహాల్‌ను సేవిస్తే అది వైరస్‌ను చంపివేస్తుందనే అపోహతో మెథనాల్‌ను తీసుకుంటున్నారు. ఆల్కహాల్‌ జీర్ణ వ‍్యవస్థను పరిశుద్ధం చేస్తుందనే ప్రచారంలో నిజం లేదని ఇరాన్‌ వైద్యులు డాక్టర్‌ జావద్‌ సమన్‌ స్పష్టం చేశారు. మెథనాల్‌ను వాసన చూడటం, తాగడం చేయరాదని ఇది శరీర భాగాలపై దుష్ర్పభావం చూపడమే కాకుండా మెదడును ధ్వంసం చేస్తుందని వ్యక్తులు కోమాలోకి వెళ్లి ప్రాణాలు కోల్పోయే ప్రమాదం ఉందని వైద్యులు హెచ్చరిస్తున్నారు. ఇక మహమ్మారి వ్యాప్తిపై ప్రభుత్వం ముందస్తు ప్రణాళికలతో సిద్ధం కాకపోవడంతోనే పెద్దసంఖ్యలో​ ప్రజలు ప్రాణాలు కోల్పోతున్నారని ఇరాన్‌ అధికార యంత్రాంగంపై విమర్శలు వెల్లువెత్తుతున్నాయి.

Iranian media reports that 300 people have died and more than 1,000 have been ill since drinking methanol. Officials said that the ban on alcohol in Iran was in effect due to a campaign to promote coronavirus on social media. Officials claim that people have been affected by such false suggestions as messages from Iran's social media surfaced that some people, including a British teacher, had emerged from the corona virus by drinking whiskey and honey.

With the ongoing campaign on the use of hand sanitizers with alcohol, some have taken methanol under the assumption that it can kill the virus if it serves the most effective alcohol. Iranian doctors, Dr. Javad Saman, have made it clear that there is no truth in the propaganda that alcohol purifies the digestive system. Doctors are warning people not to drink methanol and not to drink it. Criticism of the Iranian hierarchy is that a large number of people are losing their lives as the government does not prepare for the pandemic outbreak.
